PRESS RELEASE

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
February 2, 2007

SGIA Goes West with Popular Garment Workshop Program will be held at new state-of-the-art facility in West Sacramento, California

Fairfax, Virginia — The eagerly anticipated regional garment workshop, “Advanced Garment Printing: A Roadmap to Success” (April 2021, 2007), is hitting the road for California.

The critically acclaimed program, which has drawn screen printers from around the world, will be held at the facility of SGIA member Motion Co. (West Sacramento, California). The 650-square-meter (7,000-square-foot) garment operation caters to resellers in the fashion and music industries.

“Holding the workshop in a modern facility offers an exciting opportunity for specialty imagers to see garment production up close, as they learn about more complicated aspects of screen printing from industry veterans,” said Johnny Shell, SGIA’s Vice President of Technical Services.

Students will cover separation routines — including four-color, indexed and simulated — as industry consultant Charlie Taublieb, Taublieb Consulting, leads sessions on efficiently and productively achieving eye-popping effects. Attendees also reinforce their classroom knowledge with hands-on screen making and printing.

Past attendees said they noticed improvements in their work immediately after the workshop. “I already can see a difference, especially in the quality of my screens,” said Sam Mashtoub, Positive Results Fashion Inc. (Montreal, Quebec), a few days after the last garment workshop.
