Adams Magnetic Products Names National Logistics Manager, HR Manager and Tradeshow Coordinator

Adams Magnetic Products Co. has added Jim Vitek as logistics manager; Sharon Rakowski, SPHR, as human resources manager; and Adrianne Joyner as tradeshow coordinator. Each contributes to the company’s national operations including flexible magnets, magnet assemblies and devices, ferrite cores, and other magnetic materials.

Jim Vitek, Logistics Manager
Experienced in logistics, operations and distribution management, Vitek’s career spans more than 30 years. For the past 13 years, he worked at Canon USA, Inc. overseeing a $6 million operating budget and a $160 million physical inventory of consumer, home office and business products with 99.9% accuracy. Bringing his pursuit for perfection to Adams, he is responsible for all warehouse operations including shipping, receiving, physical handling, order selection, inventory and safety. Additional duties include transportation, carrier negotiations, routing of freight and claims to ensure Adams’ customers receive the correct orders, on-schedule.

“I have a saying that I incorporate in my work and the work of my staff: ‘Whatever It Takes!’” emphasizes Vitek. He understands how much managing inventory means to customers’ bottom lines. Helping avoid delays due to production lead times, he and his staff can work with customers to anticipate required dates and provide shipments on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. Blanket orders can be accommodated for up to one year with a signed purchase order and schedule.

Educated at Triton College and the College of Du Page in Illinois, Vitek continually seeks professional development opportunities such as through Dale Carnegie courses and his memberships with the Council of Logistics Management and the Warehousing Education and Research Council.

Sharon Rakowski, HR Manager
Drawing from 22 years in human resources, Rakowski is experienced in employee relations and recruitment, staff training, benefits administration and compensation management. Familiar with supporting large-scale manufacturing and production facilities, she is trained as a Green Belt in Six Sigma practices.

Working as HR manager for Antenna Products Group (formerly MAXRAD), she implemented several programs and processes yielding financial savings, productivity improvement and quality enhancement. Her previous HR leadership positions with YMCA of the USA and MTL Insurance Company contributed to similar achievements increasing employee performance, retention and satisfaction, as well as their resulting professionalism and output.

Rakowski earned her M.B.A. in human resource management and her B.A. in liberal arts from DePaul University in Chicago. She certified as a Senior Professional, Human Resources (SPHR) and an instructor in HR management with the College of DuPage. An active volunteer with DuPage County, she also is the founder and president of the DuPage Chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management.

Adrianne Joyner, Tradeshow Coordinator
As part of the marketing department, Joyner is responsible for coordinating and implementing a variety of communications and promotional activities. Her primary concentration is to support the company’s attendance and exhibition at more than 20 annual tradeshows. Additionally, she assists with print and electronic materials development and maintenance, product research and testing, and employee, customer and vendor relations.

Prior to joining Adams, Joyner was a brand analyst for The Henry Wine Group and 75 of its brands, as well as its suppliers and wineries across the country. While there, she provided critical support for the national sales and brand managers including information on inventory, pricing, suppliers, products and technical and promotional materials. She continues to pursue sales and marketing educational opportunities through college coursework and industry associations such as the In-Store Marketing Institute.
