HP Introduces RIP Certification Program for Optimal Printing Experience

Caldera now certified for HP Designjet Z6100

PALO ALTO, CA - HP today announced the introduction of a RIP certification initiative for its new HP Designjet Z6100 Printer series aligned to essential user performance expectations and the unique capabilities of the printer series spanning a wide range of large-format printing applications. The HP Designjet Z6100 Certification Program will provide graphics professionals, print service providers and technical designers working in color-critical environments with enhanced compatibility and confidence in the complete solution with assured levels of functionality and interoperability when they select one of the HP-certified third-party RIP products. Today, Caldera became the first to achieve HP Designjet Z6100 Certified status.

Caldera’s fast, flexible and powerful production workflows are dedicated to wide and industrial wide-format print applications. The company’s range of products offers features that increase productivity and simplify color management across many production printing segments and graphic arts markets. HP Designjet Z6100 certification applies to Caldera’s VisualRIP, VisualRIP+ and GrandRIP+ family of products.

“HP continues to lead and innovate in the large-format printing market by introducing this HP Designjet Z6100 Certification Program, offering anyone from PSPs to technical professionals a first-class level of assured compatibility when they select a HP-certified product from leading RIP providers,” said Enrique Lores, vice president and general manager, Large Format Printing Division, HP. “Today Caldera successfully passed the compatibility tests we’ve set out, demonstrating their commitment with HP to deliver a sound, intuitive printing experience.”

Caldera’s software solutions are designed for the professional large format print and print-to-cut workflows and are ideal RIP tools for printing wide format jobs with eye-catching colors and contrast. These easy-to-drive, modular products are full-featured production workflow solutions, which can be expanded to meet users’ future needs. In addition to supporting the HP Designjet Z6100, Caldera also provides support for the HP Designjet Z2100 and Z3100 Photo Printer series.

RIPs that have achieved certified status will be allowed to carry the unique “Certified for HP Designjet Z6100” designation. Certification tests for the HP Designjet Z6100 include print quality, throughput performance and other important characteristics of printer management and job handling. Certified RIPs will also offer profiles for a range of HP media, giving users a comprehensive solution when choosing HP media.

This Certification program expands HP’s already extensive solution development program that provides third-party software developers access to hardware, Software Development Kits (SDKs) and additional resources to assist in the creation of solutions compatible with HP large-format printers.

Full details of the compatibility tests and the currently certified solutions can be found at www.hp.com/go/z6100/solutions.
