X2O Media Serves Up Affordable, Off-the-Shelf Digital Signage Solution for St. Louis Aces' 2009 Season
MONTREAL - X2O Media, a full-service provider of technology, network management, and content services for professional digital signage applications, today announced that its Xpresenter™ Xe all-in-one, single-player digital signage system was utilized by the St. Louis Aces tennis team to play out sponsored content in HD while hyping the team's upcoming matches and promotions during its 2009 season.
The St. Louis Aces is a member of the World TeamTennis (WTT) league and competes against 10 other teams during a 21-day season in July. For this year's competition, the team needed an affordable, easy-to-update digital signage solution to promote its sponsors and update game schedules. Since the WTT season only lasts three weeks, the Aces didn't have a full-time exclusive venue. The digital signage system had to be set up from scratch at the team's temporary location and be ready to go as if it lived there year round.
For the installation, Midwest Production Group and Professional Video Supply teamed up to deliver a solution centered on X2O Media's Xpresenter Xe digital signage system. The programming playlist consisted of the Aces' corporate sponsors' logos and video commercials; upcoming home game schedules and team apparel sales; Aces' Web site and volunteer information; current weather and three-day forecast; current sports headlines; and Aces tennis trivia questions. The content played out on three 52-inch displays located in the outdoor VIP sponsor tent, public food vendor area, and at the court-side concession stand.
"We chose the Xpresenter Xe because it is a very simple, yet extremely powerful system with outstanding output quality," said Brad Noblitt, Sales Engineer at Professional Video Supply. "Its easy-to-use Web controller and the ability to upload PowerPoint® content allow users to build and load multiple pages of content very quickly without having to learn new software."
Powered by a graphics rendering engine used in the broadcast industry, Xpresenter Xe delivers better-than-broadcast-quality output, while an easy-to-use configuration screen lets users personalize parameters to quickly produce a completely customized display. Point-and-click content management tools allow day-to-day updates to the on-screen content to be made quickly and easily via a Web-based control screen. Xe includes a number of links to live data sources to keep content constantly refreshed.
"The Xpresenter Xe digital signage system allowed the team to offer their sponsors a high-tech approach to signage and really took it to the next level," said Glenn Fishering, President and Executive Producer of Midwest Production Group. "The foam core signs you might see at similar events were replaced with eye-catching logos, messages and video clips.
