ISA International Sign Expo 2010: A Beacon Of Light Following An Economic Storm

ALEXANDRIA, VA - In an industry that focuses on visual communications, there was no place better to be than ISA International Sign Expo 2010 in Orlando, April 7 10. Nearly 17,000 attendees from around the globe visited hundreds of exhibitors in over 160,000 net square feet of exhibit space on an expo show floor that was the largest it has been since 2008. Seventeen percent of exhibitors were new and/or first time exhibitors, clearly indicating the sign industry is on the rebound following the recent economic downturn. Despite the challenging economy of 2009, 2010 appears bright for the sign industry.

ISA International Sign Expo proved itself to be the premier platform to conduct domestic and international business in the sign industry. Many exhibitors and attendees reported the ISA Sign Expo is “the most cost-effective and efficient way to do business, shop for new products and services, and stay on the cutting edge of sign industry technology.”

“The ISA Sign Expo offers an unmatched opportunity to meet in person with thousands of prospective qualified buyers,” said ISA President and CEO Lori Anderson, “and this year, that’s exactly what our exhibitors did.”

In addition to a massive exhibit hall, ISA hosted two special events, intended to offer participants a look at some of the hottest products being introduced. The New Product Showcase featured 22 demonstrations. The Green Product Showcase, a new addition to Sign Expo, offered eco-friendly products available to the industry.

ISA's Sign Expo 2010 offered an unrivaled slate of industry-specific educational programs as well, with expert-led sessions focusing on topics such as graphic design, sign code legislation, business management, sales and marketing, and technology. In what has been slated as the “best ever” educational opportunity for the visual communications market, this year’s show offered nearly double the number of education sessions that are typically conducted, popular package pricing options for the first time and much more. The ISA Sign Academy featured interactive forums, hands-on workshops and seminars; Continuing Education Units (CEUs) were available for several sessions and Professional Development Units (PDUs) were available for all sessions.

Gloria Byce, with Innersource, Inc. in Youngstown, Ohio, noted “There were so many good education sessions going on, it was hard to choose!” And, according to Gerald Peskin, owner of Peskin Sign Company, “These sessions make it possible for our firm to become more professional, productive and profitable.”

ISA Sign Expo alternates each year between Orlando and Las Vegas and was ranked as the 85th largest trade show in 2008, according to Tradeshow Week.

Be sure to be in Las Vegas, April 28 30, 2011 for next year’s ISA International Sign Expo. It’s sure to be the sign industry event of the year!
