Gemini’s New Cast Plaque Foundry Is Fully Operational

Decorah, IA ­ Gemini Incorporated, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of letters, logos and plaques for the sign industry, announces the opening of its newest 30,000-square-foot plaque foundry in Decorah, Iowa. The new foundry is fully operational, expanding Gemini’s casting capacity to sizes of more than 7 feet in diameter!

The decision to expand the company’s plaque manufacturing facilities by building a new foundry was made to meet a growing demand for plaques within the sign and recognition industries. Gemini broke ground on the facility in the fall of 2007, and construction continued through the winter of 2007-208, working on the building throughout one of the coldest and snowiest winters in recent memory.

Leading the effort at the new Decorah foundry is Plant Manager Kevin Weselmann. A 23-year veteran of Gemini, Weselmann had previously been the plant manager for Gemini’s cast letter foundry in Decorah. Already, cast bronze and aluminum plaques are being made on a routine basis.

Besides cast plaques, Gemini offers etched, ADA, Bas Relief, ceramic inserts, Giclée, and Photo Relief plaques.
