OSHA Recognizes Gemini’s Texas Plant For Safety Practices

Taylor, TX — A recognition ceremony was held recently for Gemini Incorporated’s manufacturing facilities in Taylor, Texas to present employees with OSHA’s Safety and Health Recognition Program (SHARP) Award.

A world leader in the manufacture of letters, logos and plaques for the sign industry, Gemini’s Texas operation was certified for SHARP status on October, 21, 2010 by Texas Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Consultation. This is Gemini’s third facility to receive SHARP status, joining the company’s Minnesota and Iowa locations that had previously been recognized.

“This is a great accomplishment and one that is further confirmation that Gemini takes company safety seriously,” said Gemini President Fred Oss. “This is a big award, perhaps one of the biggest you can achieve in the area of safety.”

The SHARP program recognizes employers who operate an exemplary safety and health management system. Acceptance into SHARP by OSHA singles an employer out as a model for worksite safety and health. Only an elite group of businesses ever attain SHARP status.

According to Jet Tran, Gemini’s Safety and Environmental Officer, the credit goes to employees and the commitment they have demonstrated toward safety for achieving the award. “We believe safety is our responsibility both in and out of the plants, and we’re continually looking for ways to improve,” Tran said. “We are very appreciative of the support and assistance by the people at Texas OSHA. The input and resources they have provided us with have helped Gemini develop an effective and comprehensive safety program.”

At its Texas facilities, Gemini manufactures cast letters, flat cut metal letters, and Formed plastic letters.

Gemini Incorporated uses a variety of earth-friendly materials and manufacturing processes to make its products. The company currently has manufacturing plants in Minnesota, Iowa, Texas, Nevada, Virginia, Canada and Mexico.
