ISA Sign Expo 2018 in Orlando - we dare you

PRESS RELEASE

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
November 7, 2011

International Sign Association Trains More Than 220 Crane Operators In 2011

More than 220 sign company personnel have participated in ISA’s industry-leading mobile crane operator safety certification training program in 2011. The training program is designed to help the industry meet certification requirements from OSHA.

Immediately following each three-day mobile crane operator safety certification training, participants undergo both written and practical certification testing conducted by the National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO). To comply with OSHA’s Cranes and Derricks in Construction Rule 29 CFR Part 1926, all mobile crane operators must be certified by Nov. 10, 2014. Some states have enacted rules that require certification to be completed before 2014.

“Ensuring that every mobile crane operator is trained and certified by 2014 is a monumental task for a variety of industries,” said Joel Oliva, Program Manager/Regulatory Affairs Coordinator for the National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO). “To have the International Sign Association take a key leadership role within the on-premise sign industry has been tremendous. They have been a valued partner to NCCCO in ensuring that mobile crane operators receive the best training to prepare for the certification testing and ultimately to create a safer workplace.”

ISA has hosted training in 18 sites throughout the country in 2011.

“We’re pleased with the number of sign industry professionals who have committed to this training in 2011,” said Lori Anderson, ISA president and CEO. “It provides a competitive advantage and helps ensure safety on the job. We remain committed to helping the sign industry prepare for this OSHA mandate in the most effective and efficient way possible. ”

ISA will continue to offer this program to help companies comply with the regulation. To learn more and to see upcoming courses as they are scheduled, visit www.signs.org/cranetraining.
