Justice Mitchell to Keynote Sign Biz Convention

He is famous in many circles – both on and offline. Justice Mitchell has opened digital doors for names such as AT&T, Regions Bank, Little Debbie, Bayer Advanced, Wynn Rsorts, Ritz Carlton, and others. As VP, Interactive Creative & Social Media Director at Starmark, he has built a standout presence in his career in marketing, winning awards such as the prestigious Mixx Awards for his Best in Show “Art the Heist” for Audi. In that online advertising campaign, his creativity drew 45 million PR impressions and 10,000 leads to dealers, with the New York Times hailing it “A car commercial like no other.”

Mitchell will deliver an engaging keynote address after lunch on Saturday, March 24th, the first day of the Sign Biz two-day convention in Orlando, Florida. The program follows a day at the International Sign Association Expo with tours of the exhibit hall floor, and will feature 22 workshops and education events voted for by Sign Biz Sign Biz network of visual communications companies. This is the 22nd annual convention for the chain.

Founded in Chicago in 1978, today Starmark has 55 employees and is one of only three companies ever named seven times to Inc. Magazine’s “INC 500″ list of Fastest Growing Privately Held Companies.

“His extensive experience in designing and integrating effective social media campaigns with other online and offline media to reach consumers and businesses at virtually every touch point is critical today for brand stewardship. His address couldn’t be more timely or relevant,” added Teresa M. Young, President and CEO of Sign Biz, Inc.

For a third year in a row, the Sign Biz Convention also features a general session on social media to provide their members, sign business owners and staff, with a greater understanding of this ever-evolving landscape. This year's event, March 24-25 in Orlando, FL, comes at an auspicious time: Newly public Facebook will have demonstrated the shareholder value that a world of social connections can create, and a new generation of social startups from Pinterest to Shazam are redefining how brands think about connecting with consumers.

“During these seminars and paneled discussions, we'll hear from forward-thinking marketers such as Vice President/General Manager of Roland DGA Corp, Rick Scrimger; Cyrious President, Scott St. Cyr; Director of Social Media Marketing for SAi, Stephanie Stamm; Russ Mills, Matthews Paint; National Accounts, HP’s John Stevens; and Kris Kliewer, Denco Sales, among others.

Beyond the keynote, Sign Biz Reunion 2012, “Cue the Future” will feature drill-downs in social, mobile, video, blogging and e-commerce, as well as a QR-Code driven cocktail party event, where teams engage in a scavenger hunt, and in a new twist, use smart phones to gain an advantage. In addition, new inductees to the Million-Dollar and Half-Million Dollar Milestone Clubs will be recognized.

The program will conclude on Sunday with the Best in Show “Everything is Marketing” Awards to honor the creators of sign products that went on to dominate in social media over the past year.
