PRESS RELEASE

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
January 30, 2013

It’s another great Trophex show!

Despite the snowy weather Trophex 2013 proved to be yet another successful show for the trophy, awards and personalisation industry. The industry was well represented with all the big companies from the world of trophies, lasers and engraving, sublimation and personalisation, printing and embroidery solutions to name just a few. With Christmas a distant memory, Trophex is a good way to start the year, it gives visitors the chance to see what’s new for the season ahead as there is always an exciting array of new products, newly designed trophies and awards and the chance to pick up the latest catalogues for the new year and vote in the Trophex Awards - which were back by popular demand. With many exhibitors giving away exclusive special offers on their stands the show is definitely not to be missed!

All the key industry figures in trophies and awards
As always there was a good mix of new and returning exhibitors to Trophex, giving visitors the chance to see familiar faces as well as also looking for new ways to diversify and expand their business. All the key industry figures were represented with trophy companies including Cebrian (UK) Ltd, Charles Birch Group, Glenway Products Ltd, Goodwill Trophy Company, SDL Group Ltd, Swatkins Group Ltd, Transworld Trophies, Trendsetting Awards, Trophy Distributors UK Ltd and Tryumf.

Regular exhibitor Trendsetting Awards praised Trophex 2013. They had busy couple of days and saw lots of new people from the UK and Ireland; they were particularly impressed to see visitors from Scotland – despite the weather! As well as their usual array of trophies and awards, they were also showing their new ‘Express Plates’ label printer on their stand. The printer prints labels onto a metal effect label creating an engraved look with clarity and can be used on anything from cups and awards to labels for clothing. Trend were delighted that visitors loved this fast and easy way to personalise items.

Leading UK supplier of glass and crystal blanks and supplier of beautifully engraved glass and crystal gifts and awards, Crystal Galleries, were also present at the show. They have an impressive 150 new items for 2013, all of which they brought to the show. These include coloured crystal and Swarovski crystal awards and candle holders. They have also added more promotional items to their 2013 catalogue including stunning optic paper weights, key rings and memory sticks. When reflecting on the show, Managing Director Jeremy Lowes said: “Trophex is always a great show for us and a great way to start the year. Visitors loved our new lines which bodes well for 2013.”

New ways to diversify your business
Blankproducts Ltd were new exhibitors to the show, they offer a range of products including key rings, fridge magnets and pens plus a variety of products that allow you to insert your own image or logo. The company used the show to launch their fourth product range: the keyring fab system which allows customers to make high quality metal keyrings. The show proved very successful for them, said Peter Sansome, Managing Director: “Trophex has been a great show for us, we’ve seen lots of visitors to our stand who have been very keen to learn more about our products - we have potentially opened up new markets for a lot of people. We will be back next year for sure!”

QuickDome.com was also new to the show, part of KYD Products; they used Trophex to launch QuickDome – their great new doming system. The system provides everything you need to produce your own domed centres and the components to turn them into gifts and giveaways. When reflecting on the show, Adrian Light, Managing Director at the company said: “QuickDome has been very well received at Trophex, we have seen a lot of people who are genuinely interested in our products and we have taken more orders than we had initially expected.”

Lasers and engraving
Lasers and engraving is a big part of the industry and they were well represented with companies including CSI Manufacturing Ltd, Gravograph Ltd, Halo Lasers Ltd, HPC Laser Ltd, Mastergrave Ltd, Metaza.com, Signature Engraving Systems UK Ltd, Trotec Laser Ltd and U-Marq Ltd.

U-Marq premiered their new lidded tankard attachment and bottle attachment which can be fitted to the Universal and GEM CX machines and their shot glass attachment for the GEM RX5. Visitors to the show could see exactly how they worked and what the products looked like once they had been engraved. These proved very popular and the company took many orders as well as selling quite a number of machines – so they were very happy!

Trophex is the only exhibition where visitors can see the entire range of Gravograph machinery. Lasers were widely demonstrated and none more so than the new LS100 E8; a Gravograph laser priced at just over £6,000. On the mechanical engravers side, the all-in-one M40G once again attracted much attention thanks to its glass engraving kit and instant flat-to-cylindrical-engraving swap mode. All in all, despite the adverse weather, it was another good show for Gravograph and a great opportunity for the team to see their customers.

Personalisation
Personalisation is big business and another area which visitors could see at the show. TheMagicTouch, who have been manufacturing and marketing a comprehensive range of coated transfer papers and associated products since 1989, had a busy exhibition. They were showing their entire product range including the Graphtec CE6000 cutter which comes with its own software package. And it was the first time they’ve shown the new incredible OKI C711WT Colour plus White LED Printer in the UK which visitors were blown away by! The new white toner delivers a superb opacity level that produces a very high ‘white’ factor, especially for non-fabric, hard surface applications as well as for garments and textiles.

Visitors to Merlin Transfers stand were able to see their impressive range of products which included low cost dye sublimation systems, dye-sub printers and mug presses as well as flat bed presses and a wide range of blank printables including mugs, phone cases and iPad covers. The company is also able to remotely install every system free of charge. They saw a lot of interest from visitors over the two days, said Richard Lockwood, Managing Director: “Trophex was a busy show for us, we were very happy with the quality of potential clients. Our mug presses were particularly popular with single shop owners as it gives them a good starting block for diversifying”.

Nova Chrome UK gave many demonstrations throughout the course of the exhibition on their impressive sublimation systems. They were also promoting their widest range of products to date including ChromaLuxe, Unisub wood and plastic, glass fabrics, ceramics, aluminium and much more besides.

Impressed visitors to Trophex 2013
Esme Murphy from M.M.I. Group Limited in Ireland comes to Trophex every year. “Trophex is a great show and it’s important to visit every year to see what’s new and what’s changed. It’s nice to meet people face-to-face; you build up a better rapport with them,” she commented. “Visiting the show means that I can look for new ranges and pick up new catalogues from people who we don’t necessarily do business with,” she concluded.

New to 2013 is the Trophex virtual tour which can be found on the website at: www.trophex.com. Keeping the exhibition alive until 2014, click on here to see a colour coded tour of all the exhibitor stands and a link through to their websites.

Many exhibitors have already re-booked for next year’s show which takes place from 19th to 20th January 2014. We look forward to seeing you there!
