Care in selection of translucent vinyls
A client asked us to produce lighted sign faces with contrasting (dark green outline and light green inline)translucent vinyls. The vinyl catalog differential between the two vinyls was dramatic - in the vinyl catalog, but the two vinyls were virtually indistinguishable from each other when applied to the sign face.
Tip: ALWAYS Use a light box or hold translucent vinyls up to a light AT THE SAME TIME to determine the actual contrast, not the one that presents itself in the catalog. (We would, ordinarily, have used other colors to present a bolder contrast but the client was keen to remain with what appeared to be sharply contrasting shades of green).
